The federal government reacted swiftly, announcing a major security mobilization. In an emergency address, the Minister of State for National Security, Hon. Sally Hilgendorf, condemned the “cowardly slaughter of children and teachers” and confirmed the deployment of 5,600 troops to South Dordrecht to stabilize the region. She added that in coordination with the defense forces, the government is also moving an additional 45,000 troops to reinforce the Eastoria–Russia border, vowing that the LFE “will not be allowed to destabilize Eastoria’s sovereignty.”
Governor Michl Prinz of South Dordrecht described the attack as “a dark day for our region and our nation.” Speaking outside the regional assembly in Alberton, he said, “Our children and teachers were targeted in a brutal act of terror. We mourn the innocent lives lost and stand united with the families. The people of South Dordrecht will not be broken. The government’s deployment ensures our communities are protected as we begin the long process of healing.”
The National Investigation Service (NIS), working in close cooperation with the National Bureau of Intelligence (NBI), has launched a sweeping manhunt to identify and dismantle LFE sleeper cells inside Eastoria. Authorities confirmed that raids are already underway across South Dordrecht and neighboring regions, with dozens of suspects taken into custody for interrogation. According to security officials, intelligence points to a growing network of LFE operatives attempting to infiltrate Eastoria from Russian territory. An FSB spokesperson said the agencies are coordinating with international partners to cut off supply routes and funding streams.
The attack is expected to further strain relations between Eastoria and Russia. While Moscow has denied harboring LFE elements in the past, Eastorian officials have long accused Russian actors of enabling the extremist group’s operations. The Laeken House confirmed that President Luke Koenig has been briefed and will convene an emergency session of the National Security Council in Leskovac later today. Flags across the country will be flown at half-mast for three days in mourning for the victims.
