Leskovac, Strazia — Eastoria Airlines has announced the completion of a landmark €8.4 billion ($9.6 billion) purchase for twenty new aircraft, marking the most significant fleet expansion in its history. The deal will grow the national carrier’s fleet from fifteen to thirty-five aircraft and support its ambitious plan to expand its route network from thirty-four to fifty-six destinations by 2030, with a strategic focus on Asia and Africa.
The new acquisition includes five Boeing 777-8s, six Airbus A321XLRs, four Boeing 787 Dreamliners, and five Boeing 777-300ER freighters. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026 and continue through 2030. All aircraft will operate out of the airline’s main hub, Elias Haider International Airport in Leskovac.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Prof. Jana Hofer praised the deal as “a decisive investment in Eastoria’s global future.” She emphasized that the expansion goes beyond aviation, reflecting national progress and ambition. “Every new aircraft represents more than just capacity—it represents opportunity. This fleet will strengthen Eastoria’s role in international trade and tourism while linking our economy to the fast-growing markets of Asia and Africa,” Schmidt said.
Eastoria Airlines CEO Markus Veldt called the deal “a defining chapter for the airline and the country.” He noted that the new wide-body and narrow-body mix will allow the airline to serve both long-haul and regional routes with improved efficiency. “We are not simply buying airplanes—we are expanding Eastoria’s reach,” Veldt said. “These aircraft will give us the range, flexibility, and fuel efficiency to compete on a global scale while maintaining our Eastorian identity.”
The airline’s strategic plan includes new routes to Singapore, Johannesburg, Mumbai, and Nairobi, alongside expanded cargo operations using the new 777-300ER freighters. The additions will triple Eastoria Airlines’ freight capacity and support the nation’s goal of becoming a logistics hub between Europe and Africa.
The expansion aligns with President Luke Koenig’s “Eastern Connectivity Initiative,” aimed at strengthening Eastoria’s transport and trade infrastructure. With the new fleet arriving over the next five years, Eastoria Airlines is positioning itself as both a symbol and an instrument of national growth—a mid-sized carrier with world-sized ambition.
